The program covers the requirements of the STCW Convention 1978 as amended Chapter VI, Section A-VI/4, and Table A-VI/4-2.
Upon completion of the course, trainee will be competent to participate effectively in coordinated schemes for medical assistance on ships at sea and to provide the sick or injured with a satisfactory standard of medical care while they remain onboard.
Entry standards
For entry to the course the candidate should present:
- Certificate of Competency or Certificate of Proficiency or educational diplomaor provisional certificate of study (for students);
- Passport or Seaman’s Book or Seafarer’s Identity Document;
- Seafarer’s Medical Certificate
- Certificate of First Medical Aid or Medical Care
