The program covers the competences of Regulation II/2 of STCW Convention and Sections A-II/2, B-V/b and B-V/c of STCW Code. The course is primarily intended for shore-based personnel and for personnel responsible for the cargo handling of packaged dangerous, hazardous and harmful cargoes aboard ships.
A trainee successfully completing the course will be enabled to contribute to the preparation and execution of the safe carriage of dangerous goods and maritime pollutants by sea and will understand the legal implications of and correctly apply or verify compliance with the IMDG Code and its Supplements.
Entry standards
For entry to the course the candidate should present:
- Certificate of Competency or Certificate of Proficiency or educational diploma
- Passport or Seaman’s Book or Seafarer’s Identity Document;
- Seafarer’s Medical Certificate
