Online Meeting About BSM Smart Academy Held for BNTU Students

On April 24, 2025, an online meeting about the BSM Smart Academy was held for first-year students of Batumi Navigation Teaching University's bachelor's educational programs "Maritime Navigation" and "Marine Engineering." The meeting was conducted by BSM representatives.

BSM Smart Academy represents a comprehensive approach to nurturing and developing future leaders within the organization. In the constantly changing business environment, investing in the future is critically important for sustainable success. The main objectives of BSM Smart Academy are:

• Partnership with selected educational institutions to bridge the skill gap and promote career opportunities at sea and within BSM;
• Attracting and preparing students for the future maritime workforce;
• Developing core leadership competencies, including strategic thinking, communication, adaptability, and emotional intelligence;
• Creating a diverse and inclusive environment.

Students are enrolled in the program after completing their first academic year. Recruitment and selection include psychometric and aptitude tests, as well as interviews. After being accepted as cadets, individuals begin a full-time four-year training program (three years at the university + one year cadetship on BSM-managed vessels).

Cadets gain valuable experience and training in preparation for a career at BSM. This training is delivered in collaboration with local and external partners, in full alignment with BSM training materials, vision, and mission statement.
