On September 24, 2020, under the auspices of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), World Maritime Day 2020 was celebrated. Within the framework of this day, an online event "Sustainable Shipping for Sustainable Planet" was organized by the International Maritime Organization.
The event was opened by the Secretary General of the International Maritime Organization Kitak Lim.
The event was attended by the academic staff of Batumi Navigation Teaching University.
