Successful Student Award Ceremony At BNTU 3.07.2020

The awarding ceremony of successful students of maritime institutions was held at the Batumi Navigation Teaching University. Rector of Batumi Navigation Teaching University Parmen Khvedelidze opened the ceremony.

Tamar Ioseliani, Director of the Maritime Transport Agency, addressed the audience. She spoke about the importance of the seafarers’ profession, the role of maritime institutions and ways to overcome the crisis caused by the pandemic.

The event was attended by representatives of the Batumi Navigation Teaching University, Batumi High Maritime Engineering School  Anri as well as crewing companies. At the event, in total 11 students were fully funded for the 2020-2021 academic year, five of which were funded by crewing companies.

„Mariner“

„Eurostar Mariner“

„Global Mariner“

„Columbia Shipmanagement“

Two BNTU’s students, Luka Mgalobshvili and Beka Makharadze, were fully funded to study for one year. Levan Iasamnidze was released from the tuition fee by the management of BNTU.

The award ceremony for successful students was dedicated to the Day of Seafarer.

June 25 has been celebrated as the Day of Seafarer since 2011. This year, the slogan of the day is: "Seafarers Are Key Workers“
