DUGEOR: Meeting of the working group for the introduction of dual higher education
On November 14-15, 2024, Giorgi Gabedava, Head of the International Relations Department at Batumi Navigation Teaching University, participated in a working group meeting for the ERASMUS+ Capacity Building project "Strengthening Capacities for the Implementation of Dual Education in Georgian Higher Education (DUGEOR)." The meeting focused on developing legal and strategic frameworks for implementing dual education in Georgia.
Key topics discussed during the meeting included:
- Proposed amendments to the Law on Higher Education
- Upcoming revisions to accreditation standards
- Progress review of activities under the 2024 work package
- Assessment of project communication and outreach initiatives
The DUGEOR project consortium comprises 16 members, including: Four international universities from Serbia, Austria, and Germany; Five Georgian universities; Five partner organizations; The Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia; The National Center for Education Quality Development.
The project, funded by the European Union through the ERASMUS+ Capacity Building program, is being implemented from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2026. The Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA) hosted this strategic working group meeting.
